Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    An official copy of transcripts for all college or university level coursework attempted is required. If you have earned fewer than 27 credit, your official high school transcript is also required.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have earned fewer than 27 college-level credits, an official SAT or ACT score report is required. Applicants with a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher do not need to submit SAT or ACT scores for admissions purposes.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Direct transfer allows automatic admission and transfer of all college level credits of a “C” or better.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Direct transfer allows for all college level credits not to exceed 70. We do not limit the number of credits transferable for work completed at 4-year colleges; however, in order to graduate, a student must complete 30 semester credits at UMES.

  • Transfer Agreements:
    UMES fully ascribes to the Maryland State Board for Higher Education Articulation Agreement. UMES has direct transfer agreements with all Maryland community colleges as well.
