Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Students must have a 2.0 or higher GPA to be considered for admittance.
  • Official Transcripts:
    If you have taken any college courses or have AP, CCP, or IB credits, official transcripts are required. An official high school transcript with graduation date and final GPA is also required.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you fall below 2.0, we can accept an ACT score of at least 22, an SAT score of at least 1020, or a personal essay.
  • Essay:
    If you submit a personal essay, it can cover your artistic processes, personal or work experience, milestones you are proud of passing, and why you think AAC is a good fit for you.
  • Other Requirements:
    You will need to submit 8-10 original works of artwork, design, or creative writing.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Only grades of “C” or higher, from courses that are applicable to the Art Academy’s curriculum, are transferable.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The maximum amount of transfer credit to be transferred will be determined by the Chairs on an individual basis. The Art Academy reserves the right to decline credits that are more than 10 years old unless a degree has been awarded.
