Financial Information

• Scholarships and Financial Aid:
  Students planning to obtain financial aid should complete the FAFSA online so that we may determine eligibility. Scholarships are one funding source that doesn’t need to be repaid. They are usually awarded based on merit. SUNY Empire offers a variety of scholarships to help make your education more affordable. Use our scholarship portal to find and apply for awards that match your qualifications.
• Tuition and Fees:
  Associate & Bachelor's Courses: $295 per credit for NY residents | $353 per credit for online out-of-state residents and out-of-state residents.

Information for Transfer In Students

• Accepts Transfers:
  Empire State University’s online transfer admissions make it easy to apply and bring your credits with you.
• Credit For Life Experience:
  Many students underestimate the value of their experience. Don’t shortchange yourself. You may have more college-level learning than you realize.

Transfer Application Requirements

• Minimum GPA:
  Minimum GPA requirements are program-specific.
• Official Transcripts:
  An official transcript will be needed for each institution attended, even if transfer credit from a previous institution is listed on another college or university transcript.
• Application Fee:
  A $50 nonrefundable orientation fee is required with your application. Your application won’t be processed without it. This fee is waived for Active Military, Veterans, and those with a valid waiver code.
• Other Requirements:
  State law requires any student taking 6 credits or more of in person instruction to provide proof of immunizations.

Transfer Credit Policy

• Minimum Grade:
  We accept transfer credit for courses with an earned grade of C- or higher or its equivalent. Some programs may have specific grade requirements.
• Credits (Min/Max):
  There is no limit on transferable credits from acceptable sources. Howeve, for an associate degree, a minimum of 24 credits must be taken at SUNY Empire State, a minimum of 30 for a bachelor's degree.
