Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
We require both official high school and college transcripts (from each school attended), though we do place more weight on the work a student has completed in college.
  • SAT Scores:
You can submit scores from the SAT and/or ACT, but it’s not required.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
Oberlin requires two academic teacher evaluations for transfer applicants. At least one, and preferably both, should be written by a professor at your current institution who has recently taught you in an academic course.
  • Essay:
You’ll need to write a personal essay as part of your Common App. Oberlin does not require any additional supplemental essays (hooray!).
  • Other Requirements:
The College Report. A Mid-Term Report is required if you are enrolled in classes when you apply to Oberlin. If you are applying to our BA+BFA program you are required to submit a portfolio.
