Information for Transfer In Students

• Credit For Life Experience:
  Whether you’ve gained skills through work, volunteering, military service or independent learning, PLAR allows you to have that knowledge assessed and applied toward your program.

Transfer Application Requirements

• Minimum GPA:
  We usually requires a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher for transfer students. Some programs, especially those in higher-demand fields like nursing, may have higher GPA requirements.
• Official Transcripts:
  Official transcripts and course outlines must be sent directly from the issuing institution. If you have earned fewer than 24 college-level credits, your official high school transcript is also required.
• SAT Scores:
  We do not require standardized test scores (like SAT or ACT) for transfer admission, unless you are applying to a specific program that has additional requirements, or you are an international student requiring proof of English language proficiency.
• Application Fee:
  The standard nonrefundable application fee for most programs at Georgian College is $100.
• Interview:
  Some programs may have specific admission requirements that include an interview.
• Other Requirements:

Transfer Credit Policy

• Minimum Grade:
  Georgian College will assess transfer credits for courses from other post-secondary institutions with a minimum grade of 60% (C or higher). Certain courses, like those in the IMPACT curriculum, may have specific transfer credit policies.
• Credits (Min/Max):
  We allow a maximum of 75 credits from a 2-year institution and a max of 90 credits overall, including those from other sources. At least 25% of credits for a certificate, diploma, or a degree must be completed in residence at Georgian College.
